Importation Closure that is Robust to Circular Dependencies

Any approach to the integration of distributed knowledge bases (KBs) through importation must make design decisions regarding circular importation dependencies: are they disallowed, ignored, or allowed? If they are allowed, how is the resulting infinite loop of importation handled in practice? We present preliminary results of Importations (http://athant.com/projects/Importation/), an exploration of the ramifications of embracing circular importation dependencies, with particular application to design decisions in the revision of ISO Common Logic (CL).
